Bhalubasa School 2006
It's the summer of 2006 and the primary school children at Bhalubasa are writing on slates with chalk.
Soon new uniforms arrive for the children. Smart pale blue shirts and navy shorts.
We have the full support of the parents. In this photo you can see the village head man with his 'top-knot' (front right).
The children now have Christmas parties.
Meet Kape!
She was suffering from eczema all over her head when we first met her in 2006. She may have died but £15 paid for the medicine that cured her eczema and her hair has grown so full and beautiful.

During 2008 Family Aid Direct provided a new school building for the children of Bhalubasa
with a tube-well providing safe drinking water for the school children and the villagers.

It
is great to see the enthusiasm of the villagers to get involved with
the building of the new school. It will mean so much that the village
has its own school building.

Foundations are layed (April 2008)
Building materials are gathered.

Finally the school building is finished.
Most of the funds were provided by a lady from Bethesda, Chapel, Royton in memory of her deceased son.
It cost just over £3500.

Tube-well at Bhalubasa village
We also drilled our first tube well with a rig we bought and imported from the USA.This is day 1.
In 2009 we added this second well to the village of Bhalubasa.
When the wells run dry in the summer months people from villages around come to us for their water.

The children are so excited about their school uniform.

Books, pens and chocolate are distributed to the children.
The children are happy and grateful to be given the chance to go to school.
On
the right of this photo is Legra, age 8. He tells us that his dad has
died from disease, there is no hospital in the village and communciation
facilities are poor. However, he feels really fortunate to be getting
free education at Bhalubasa School as well as books and clothes.
